Twitter nearly crashed this afternoon. Why, you ask?
I think many just sat there for a few minutes, waiting for the "just kidding, guys" follow-up from Lowe. But it didn't -- and still hasn't -- been sent out. Lowe, seen above wearing a Colts hat in a picture that was taken on the sidelines of a Colts home game, is reportedly friends with Jim Irsay. Surely Irsay -- who is nuts -- wouldn't mention something this big to one of his friends, right? Ahh, but then we get the "hedge" from Lowe:
Let's just assume for a second that Lowe has accurate info -- and that is a huge assumption -- would this be the most bizarre source for breaking news in sports history? In any event, Gregg Doyel sums it up nicely:
